Takayasu«SQ»s arteritis (TA) is a rare chronic granulomatous vasculitis of the aorta and its branches and is associated with considerable morbidity and premature mortality. Initial symptoms and signs are non-specific. High index of suspicion is needed to make the correct diagnosis. The clinical manifestations in paediatric patients are less specific than in adults: in children, the disease presents with fever, arthralgias and hypertension. In this review, we detail the epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical features, imaging characteristics, and various treatment options for TA in children.
